Great series – I especially enjoyed the skull videos. It was definitely a new perspective on drawing the skull – very cartoon-ish.

If possible, there would be two additions that I’d recommend (something I’m personally interested in):

    1. Additional perspectives, maybe a breakdown of how to draw more “generic” facial features for male/female in 3/4 front and back.

    2. A “Speed Sketching” video – tips on how to quickly get a caricature down by observing passers-by and live models.

Still, love what you’ve done – keep it up. :)

Great suggestions, Josh! I love getting such positive and clear feedback. I think each of these ideas would be a great fit. They have been added to the idea jar. Thank you so much for the suggestions.

  5. Owen Jollands says:

    Hi Tim/Mitch,

I’m loving the Laurie B instruction videos, she has a very clear and concise method of both describing what is going on and why and also of laying down the lines, it’s primarily the Laurie B videos that persuaded me to upgrade to full membership.

I’ve got some exploring to do before I comment too much on what else I’d like to see but somthing that immediately comes to mind is that it would be nice if at the end of a video there was an in-video option to go to the next lesson in the same series rather than having to come out of the video and then click on the next link.

It’s a minor site functionality suggestion but it would really aid with the flow given the small chunks the lessons are broken down into.

    Nice Lesson

  7. SherynWareing says:

The final video cuts off abruptly at the end, @7:01 and the Pencil Kings promo loop is shown.

For the record… I wouldn’t mind seeing all the Pencil King promos being removed from the start and end of each video. It’s not really needed for subscribers: we already know what we’re buying! It just becomes annoying to see the same thing over and over.

Also, the promos are are a different audio level than the spoken material.

  8. Jen says:

    I really enjoyed these lessons!

If I can make a suggestion, the thing I found was missing from these was learning how to draw the face from different angles. It may have been covered in the cartoon lessons, but I’m currently just watching the realistic ones.

    I loved the lesson, thanks!!
