Can you really find jobs for artists on social media?

“Allow yourself to flow with whatever life throws at you. Be consistent, but don’t get married to the grand vision.”

~ Derek Rodenbeck

Can you really find jobs for artists on social media?

In this podcast, artist Derek Rodenbeck shares the ups and downs of pursuing a creative career with you.

And he reveals how posting his art regularly online eventually led to several exciting paid projects – even when nothing else seemed to be going his way.

Are There Really Jobs for Artists on Social Media?

You might have been through this experience yourself. After working hard on a creative project which you’re really  happy with, you decide to post your latest piece of art on social media for the whole world to see.

And then you wait for all the ‘Likes’ to come.

And you wait…

And you wait some more.

But the ‘Likes’ just don’t come – at least not in the quantities you were hoping for.

Sure, you might get encouraging comments from friends and family, but nobody seems to like your art enough to offer you a commission.

Sound familiar?

For artist Derek Rodenbeck, pursuing a creative career has been a series of highs and lows.

In his previous podcast, he talked about how building connections and taking a chance led to him getting his art seen by the right audience and selling out of all the T-shirts he’d produced.

However, what happened shortly afterwards forced him to take a new approach to how he marketed himself as an artist.

It also taught him how to harness the power of social media to help promote his work and reach out to a new audience.

And, in this week’s podcast, he shares all his experiences with you.

Listen to this week’s show and learn:

  • Why establishing a working routine is so important
  • How to get more exposure for your art through being consistent
  • Why you should never, ever, give up on your dreams.
