Here’s How The Figure Drawing Challenge Works:
You’ll be start right from the beginning with a technique that anyone can learn called ‘The Stickman Method’. Not only will you learn a fail-safe way to always get the proportions of the body right, you’ll also learn how to draw figures from any angle.
You’ll finish up with an introduction to gesture drawing so that by the end of the week you are already drawing full figures!

After just one week, you’ll be surprised at how much more confidence you have in your abilities. That’s why we’ll step things up and show you how to flesh out your stickmen and start adding thickness to them.
You’ll pick up some more tried and tested techniques for drawing heads, torsos, and hands and feet. You’ll also learn about negative space and how this can make a huge difference to your figure drawings.
By this stage, you’ll be well on your way to making the figure drawings you always wanted to make. In week three, you will learn ‘The Lightning Bolt Technique’ to so that you can finally understand how to draw the most important muscles of the body and how they all fit together.
You will also learn ‘The Coil Technique’ which is a simple way that anyone can use to bring even more depth to your work with foreshortening so that you can draw figures that seem to leap right off the page and reach out towards the viewer.
