There is no measuring the breadth and depth of human suffering in Japan right now. There are so many affected by the March, 2011 Earthquake and Tsunami and now the nuclear disasters. The recovery and mourning have just begun. This disaster could become the most expensive earthquake in history. The death total continues to rise and there are hundreds of thousands that have been displaced. The crisis could get even worse, depending on what happens next at the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
Now, more than ever, the Japanese people need our help and support to get through this crisis. We want to show how the art community cares. Pencil Kings will donate our entire proceeds through March to the relief efforts in Japan via the Red Cross. This is one way we want to give back.
As artists, it is impossible to overlook the many ways that Japan has provided in culture, art and industry to name only a few. Here is a look at some of the influences that we have gathered:
Please feel free to contribute to this list. And please ‘like’ this post or forward it on to other artists that you know and use the social media buttons below to help get the word out. Not only will they better themselves artistically but 100% of all March proceeds are going to the Red Cross relief efforts.
Thank you,
Tim and Mitch of Pencil Kings.
